Shao Kahn blames heavy outfit for crushing defeat to Kitana
Mortal Kombat legend and former Emperor of Outworld, Shao Kahn, has blamed his recent second round fatality defeat to Kitana on his extravagant, cumbersome outfit.
The brutal warlord has claimed his adopted daughter, who formerly served as Princess of Outworld before defecting to fight with the Earthrealm warriors, didn't hurt him "at all" during the fight and that he wants an immediate rematch in the 12th instalment of the Mortal Kombat tournament.
"She didn't hurt me at all, but the simple fact is that this damn uniform is way too heavy. You try conjuring spears and kneeing someone through a roof whilst wearing 100-pound steel shoulder blades, gauntlets and a giant warlord helmet you can barely see out of.
"It had nothing to do with the fancy 8-hit combos she was hitting me with or those silly fans she was throwing at me.
"I had no legs from the beginning of the fight. My legs were shot. But I'm a warrior and people know I'm a warrior. I dominated Outworld for millennia for Fujin's sake!"
When asked about why he would choose to wear something so debilitating for such a huge battle, Khan replied:
"Look, I chose to wear the outfit because I thought it looked cool and intimidating, and yes, I've tried it on before, but it didn't feel as heavy then.
"Sure, I'm a big dude, I train constantly and the hammer I swing probably weighs 120 pounds too, but I'm telling you it was the outfit. Oh, and I had some issues in training. You'll see a different Shao Kahn in the rematch. Just wait.
