Drake to follow in R. Kelly's footsteps with Space Jam 2 single

Canadian rapper and lifelong NBA fan Drake will continue his quest to emulate R. Kelly by writing and recording an original song for the upcoming sequel to the 1996 classic Space Jam, it has emerged.

The original movie saw NBA legend Michael Jordan team up with Bugs Bunny and the rest of the Looney Tunes to take on the dreaded 'Monstars' in a high stakes basketball game, and a follow-up starring today's biggest NBA star, LeBron James, has long been touted. After years of speculation, James announced recently that the sequel is finally in the works and will be titled 'Space Jam: A New Legacy'.

And just as LeBron James looks to continue Michael Jordan's legacy by starring in a movie alongside the Looney Tunes, Drake will follow in the footsteps of one of his own heroes, R. Kelly.

Many years before the 'Pied Piper of R&B' was arrested for a litany of sex crimes and muted by society, but around a year after he allegedly married a 15-year-old and nobody cared, he penned one of the greatest songs ever made for the big screen, 'I Believe I Can Fly'.

Drake already has plenty of accolades, winning four Grammy awards and holding several Billboard chart records, and, like 'Kellz', is steadily building a reputation for acting inappropriately with minors, be it kissing teenagers at concerts or texting then-14-year-old 'Stranger Things' star Millie Bobby Brown to tell her he misses her.

But according to reports, the Toronto native is chasing that enduring classic hit that's so special it will keep him out of prison for at least 20 years, and Tootsie Slide just isn't going to cut it.
