Aljamain Sterling snubbed at Oscars, loses to Anthony Hopkins

UFC fans are 'furious' and 'disgusted' after Bantamweight Champion Aljamain Sterling missed out on the Academy Award for Best Actor on Sunday night, losing out to veteran actor Anthony Hopkins.

The 31-year-old mixed martial artist gave a breathtaking performance earlier this year in an all-action independent film titled "UFC 259", culminating in a phenomenally dramatic finale opposite Petr Yan that reviewers dubbed "an acting masterclass worthy of the Charlton Heston-esque epics of old".

Unfortunately, the Academy handed this year's coveted trophy to Hopkins for his performance in 'The Father', in which he portrayed an old guy with Alzheimer's disease. Clearly, the role resonated with those ancient f**ks on the panel.
